Margaret commented further: “It is such a pleasure to serve on the Fairfield Harbour Cooperative Business Council (CBC) with Susanne, Bob and the restaurant owners, Roy, Tina and Chris.” To learn more about the council, visit cbcfh.com.
“Les and I attended the Taste of Coastal Carolina event at the New Bern River Front Convention Center tonight that raises funds for the Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation. Fairfield Harbour Food & Spirits was one of 31 of the best restaurants in our area who set up and served samples of their cuisine to the Sold Out crowd of 650 hungry attendees. Only the attendees voted; there were no special judges nor could the restaurant employees vote. When the votes were tabulated, Fairfield Harbour Food & Spirits won the coveted Silver Pepper Mill trophy as the Overall Best Restaurant there (last year’s winner was Persimmons Restaurant). They also won First Place as the New Taste Participant among about 15 restaurants in that category. And they won Second Place in the Best Overall Presentation category. We should all be proud that Fairfield Harbour Food & Spirits is right here in our community. They assembled their energetic team that fed the folks with friendly attitudes and efficiency. Each attendee received with a plate packed of some of their best Greek dishes, from a lemon chicken soup, spanakopita (spinach pie), pork and chicken kabobs, tzatiki sauce & chips, a tomato, olive, cucumber and feta salad. It was over the top delicious and we were so proud to cheer and whistle for them as the took the stage to take the top trophy. Stop by soon to congratulate Chris, Roy & Tina on their big win and see the coveted trophy they will be able to display for the coming year in their restaurant. I’m sure this will be in tomorrow’s Sun Journal.”
