Margaret Rose, President of Neuse Realty, celebrates 22 years of the Local Follies show in Fairfield Harbour, where she participates with the local talent.
It seems like every year we hear, “This was the best Follies ever,” which is maybe why the show was SOLD OUT all three nights this year for the first time ever (which is what Judy Bailey was telling the audience last night in the first photo from the link below). This year certainly seemed to offer the most variety of any Follies yet… from the hilarious “Broadway Boobs” to Lisbeth Holt performing Whitney Houston’s, I’ll Always Love You (even better than Whitney ever did it), to Denton Dodd on flute, and Mary Lou Miller on piano performing a selection by Rachmaninoff. Talk about a cultural divide!!!
This year also marked the swan song for a perennial Follies favorite, Terry Walker. After 22 years Terry is bidding the Follies farewell, and we’re going to miss him. As I informed audiences in all three performances, while we all know what a great baritone singer Terry is, not many also know before he became a Follies star, Terry was an excellent trombonist and toured with some pretty famous bands, including Louis Prima and Tommy Dorsey! What an artist!
Be sure to get your tickets early next year as I’m sure your Harbour Lights Players will have another excellent Judy Bailey Production ready for you again next year….
