North Carolina Chapter Of Community Associations Institute Recognizes Local Boating And Golf Community For Excellence For Second Consecutive Year

NEW BERN, N.C., Oct. 8, 2013 – Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that the community was named Community of the Year by the Community Associations Institute’s North Carolina Chapter (CAI-NC) for the second year in a row. It is a singular and tremendous achievement, as no other community has received this award consecutively for two years. Fairfield Harbour was recognized for the outstanding work the association has done to enhance the quality of life of its residents and the community property values. CAI-NC’s Community of the Year award recognizes communities of excellence across North Carolina as well as the efforts made by its board members, community members and residents. The Community of the Year award specifically evaluates the overall role of community management companies, which are heavily involved in the guidance and direction of community associations. The president of the Fairfield Harbour Board of Directors, Larry Knapp, also received the 2013 Board Member of Distinction award and community resident, Joe Schulties, was honored as the 2013 CAI-NC Volunteer of the Year award.

Located on more than 2,800 platted lots, Fairfield Harbour consists of more than 1,500 privately-owned single family homes, as well as condominiums, townhomes and timeshares.
