Manager Of Residential Boating And Golf Community Recognized Again For Outstanding Excellence

NEW BERN, N.C., Oct. 21, 2013 – Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced Mystre’ Van Horn, on-site community manager, was recently named a Manager of the Year by the Community Associations Institute’s North Carolina Chapter (CAI-NC). Van Horn, who has served as Fairfield Harbour’s community manager since 2011, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the community as well as overseeing the communication between staff, owners, committee members, board members and local leaders. In 2012, she was named Manager of Distinction by CAI-NC. With a longstanding background in the real estate industry, she previously worked for professional management companies in Texas, South Carolina and Virginia prior to joining Fairfield Harbour’s professional management company, Community Association Services (CAS, Inc.). Van Horn also does private consulting with community associations who request assistance on a case by case basis. Apart from her involvement with CAI-NC, Van Horn participates in a number of professional organizations, including the North Carolina Registered Parliamentarians (NCRP), the National Association of Registered Parliamentarians (NARP), National Board of Certification for Community Association Managers (NBC-CAM), Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialists (AMS).

Additionally, Fairfield Harbour was recognized as CAI-NC’s Community of the Year for a second consecutive year. This award specifically evaluates the overall role of community management companies, which are heavily involved in the guidance and direction of community associations. Other honors went to the president of the Fairfield Harbour Board of Directors, Larry Knapp, with the 2013 Board Member of Distinction award and community resident, Joe Schulties, with the 2013 CAI-NC Volunteer of the Year award.
