New Bern, NC— On June 3rd, Neuse Realty’s own “troubadour to be”, Howard Neviser, made his debut at the Trent River Coffee Company. The event was billed as an evening of personal story telling through song and was produced by John Van Dyke. Howard, Jenn Wiggs and Morgan Tucker were the performers and were accompanied by Brandon Banks on the piano. John recognizes the importance of the venue in showcasing local and regional talent. Many of those he has helped have performed in many of the local community theater productions and area other entertainment venues.

John Van Dyke has been instrumental in teaching, coaching and promoting talent in the New Bern area for the past 11 years, and is well known for his own work both directing and performing with the New Bern Civic Theater, RiverTowne Players, and with his Jazz group.
Neviser has been with Neuse Realty for more than seven years, first as our Property Manager and currently as a Broker with the sales team. In addition to singing to his dogs while out walking, he is a member of the Fairfield Harbour Chorus and the Harbour Lights Players. Additionally, his volunteer work includes serving as a member of the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and the Fairfield Harbour Neighborhood Watch (learn more about these organizations here). Although he is continuing his singing lessons, according to the President of Neuse Realty, Margaret Rose, “he is already adept to capturing an audience when telling a story and needs no coaching there.”
Jenn Wiggs has performed locally in the New Bern Civic Theater’s production, “In the Heights”. Morgan Tucker’s local credits include, “In The Heights,” “Rent,” and, “Smokey Joe’s Café.”
Brandon Banks is a multi-talented musician who has served as the Musical Director for numerous local community theater productions. In addition, Banks has been attributed to being John Van Dyke’s favorite accompanist.
Bob Dumon, our favorite photographer and trumpeter, sometimes sits in with John’s group. Bob, husband of Neuse Realty Co-Owner Pat Dumon, has previously performed at the Trent River Coffee House with the Harbour Jazz Trio alongside Margaret Rose, another Neuse Realty Co-Owner, on the piano.
